  • I liked this book, but I felt there was book in the second half than in the first, and there was book left that wasn t written.I really enjoyed the world Grizelda lives in, all different levels of it, and although I know very, very little about the French Revolution, I liked the feel of this being a alternate reality parallel universe to post Revolution France.Reading all the world building and relationships between the different peoples Auks, ogres humans, goblins, ratriders was interesting, [...]


  • This is a very entertaining and interesting story that I thoroughly enjoyed It is well written with very few typo errors The cast is all over the place from ogre humans, pixie ratriders, goblins, sorceress and gendarmes.The prisonbreak that they set did not go as planned They were only able to get the fourth floor, but that did include Toby s grandfather They deciced that there was no one else to help the balance of the prisoners out.It s all set but everyone has different opinions But off they [...]


  • The setting for this novel is perhaps its biggest selling point It s complex, intriguing, and believable with its many parallels to post revolutionary France The characters are likable and the story overall is very enjoyable My only complaint comes with the ending, which seems to beg a continuation that has not been forthcoming.
